Cooking, for me, has always been about personality. It should be fun, a little creative, and sometimes even a bit stubborn. That is exactly where Eigenwijze Recepten was born.
The first cookbook actually was not meant for anyone else. I started writing down recipes because I kept forgetting how I had made something the last time. What began as a simple personal notebook slowly grew into a real cookbook, filled with dishes I cooked with friends and for friends. No big master plan, just food I love to make and share.
Seven years later, the second book followed. This time written in English, inspired by years of experimenting in my own kitchen and experiences from my travels. It includes new recipes, refined ideas, and a few all-time favorites that deserved another moment on the table.
Next to writing cookbooks, I also bring that same philosophy into people’s homes as a private chef. Whether I am cooking for a small dinner or a larger event, the goal stays the same. Good food, relaxed atmosphere, and dishes that reflect personality.
I hope my recipes encourage you to explore, experiment, and trust your own taste. Learn what you like, adjust where you want, and make it your own.
"Every dish tells a story, and the best ones are shared with friends."
